About Galway Lions

The Galway Lions Club was formed in 1972 and is part of a worldwide organisation affiliated to the International Lions organisation and one of over 100 Clubs on the island of Ireland. The activities of the Club are united under the motto “We serve”.

The Galway Lions Club has been serving the local community of Galway for over 50 years. It also helps raise funds and awareness for international appeals and disaster relief.

Lions clubs are 100% not for profit, voluntary organisations, where the club’s administration costs are met by members subscriptions.

The Lions are men and women from all walks of life from the local community who come together to try and improve the quality of life for people who find themselves in a less fortunate situation.

There are currently in excess of 40 members who are active in both fundraising and services projects.

Each year the Galway Lions Club seeks to raise though fundraising and spend through individual and group donations in excess of €100.000.
