Fintan Loftus General Manager Clybaun Hotel and Lions Club member, Fergal McAndrew Club President pictured with in background Michael Murray & Jim Kent organisers of Dinny’s Do’.  The event which is named after a famous Galway character, was inspired by ‘Eric’s Party’ which has been run by Dublin Lions for many years.  In its first year COVID restrictions meant that there could be no centralised party, so pizzas, soft drinks and other goodies were delivered to various homeless hostels throughout the city.  When they were consulted this year the hostel guests expressed a strong preference for a similar arrangement. Brendan Guerin RIP

Brendan Guerin 1930-2021 Galway Lions Club regret to announce the death of Brendan Guerin, a member of the club since its charter in 1972. Brendan served as Treasurer for many years, and was President in 1977-78.  He later served as Honorary Auditor, and was an active member of the Visitations Committee until recent years. He was a Melvin Jones Fellow and was awarded Honorary Life Membership of the club. Born in Cappoquin, Co. Waterford, Brendan attended Castleknock College and was a member of the rugby team which won the Leinster Schools Senior Cup in 1947.
